Dear Mr. Del Heintz:

I would like to take this opportunity to personally congratulate you on your selection as the Mayor's Award recipient for September 2004! On behalf of the City Council, I wish to enthusiastically express our appreciation for your diligent commitment to Costa Mesa.

Your outstanding volunteer service speaks for itself and distinguishes you in our community. You manage to devote much time as a leader to many fine organizations, including: Orange Coast College Foundation; Costa Mesa Senior Center Corporation; Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce; and Vanguard University Foundation. As Federal State and Local Government Affairs Manager, Southern California Region, of Comcast Cable Communications, your responsibilities are undoubtedly substantial. Additionally, I know you strive to balance your professional and volunteer commitments with your family life. I admire the effort you put forth in maintaining that balance, while contributing greatly to the improvement of life for others, particularly the members of our community.

Del, your selfless actions serve as a positive example to people everywhere. Our community greatly benefits from your knowledge, skills and loyalty. These qualities exemplify the ideals on which this Award was founded. Your commitment to our community is admirable, and most deserving of recognition through the Mayor's Award program.

As you have already confirmed with my office, we will publicly honor you at the City Council meeting of Monday, September 20, 2004. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers at 6:30 p.m., at Costa Mesa City Hall, 77 Fair Drive. Thank you for your outstanding dedication and service to the City of Costa Mesa!
