Paul and Diane Hill
Costa Mesa, California

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Hill:

It is my sincerest pleasure to inform you that you both have been selected as the November 2004 recipients of Costa Mesa's Mayor's Award! The Mayor's Award Program was designed to recognize and appreciate individuals in the community who have displayed exemplary qualities of leadership, community involvement, and volunteerism.

Diane and Paul, I believe that you both, along with Gordon West, are shining examples of these qualities. Developing the first Costa Mesa Citizens Corps Volunteer Management Team, and enlisting residents to be ready for emergencies through neighborhood disaster preparedness courses, demonstrates a great deal of leadership and effort. Your extraordinary commitment has brought to the forefront the necessity of being prepared for disasters.

As you have already confirmed with my staff, I will publicly honor you at the City Council meeting of Monday, November 15, 2004. The meeting will take place in Council Chambers at 6:30 p.m., at Costa Mesa City Hall, 77 Fair Drive. I look forward to meeting you and your family.

Thank you for your service to the community and congratulations on the success of your extraordinary Citizens Corps Team!
