Costa Mesa Eagles Pop Warner and Cheer
Dear Costa Mesa Eagles Pop Warner Executive Board Members:
Congratulations! It is my pleasure to inform you that you have been selected as the recipients of the Costa Mesa Mayor's Award for February 2009. The Mayor's Award Program was established to recognize and appreciate members of the community who have displayed qualities of leadership, community involvement, and volunteerism.
The Costa Mesa Eagles Pop Warner Football and Cheer Executive Board has established a wonderful program for Costa Mesa children. The main goal is to exceed the expectations of the community's youth and their parents through vision and excellence in coaching, administration and professional structure. The Board ensures that adult-supervised football and cheerleading programs are among the best in Southern California. The program not only works with fairness and honesty, but ensures that fun remains an essential element. Our children have developed not only athletic, competitive, and character skills, but also learned the importance of leadership, accountability, responsibility, academics and "the golden rule." The Board has done an exceptional job in making this program the best, and for working with parents to become involved with their children and support the program. In doing so, the boys' group ages 12-15 years went 7-0 to become League champions this year. Five teams went to the play-offs as well. The journey and the outcome for these divisions reflect their remarkable efforts.
As you have confirmed with my assistant, I will publicly present your Board with the Costa Mesa Mayor's Award at the February 17th City Council meeting. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers located at 77 Fair Drive.
On behalf of the City Council, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for your outstanding work. Thank you for your dedication and commitment in making the Costa Mesa Eagles Pop Warner Football and Cheer the benchmark for Youth Football and Cheer in all of Southern California!
