The City of Costa Mesa Parks and Community Services Department’s goal is to seek classes that are affordable, innovative, and promote physical and emotional wellness within our community.  If you are interested in becoming a Contract Instructor, read through the Contract Proposal Form and Instructor Manual below to become familiar with the contract proposal process and expectations for Contract Instructors.

Contract Opportunities

On-site Contractors* are provided indoor or outdoor locations in a Costa Mesa community center or park for their classes to be held.

Partnered (off-site) Contractors allow enrollment to be taken both through the City and through the Contract Instructor to help support local businesses as well as provide unique classes to offer to the public. Beginner level classes are offered to encourage students to eventually enroll through the Contract Instructor as they advance in skill. Classes are held at the Contract Instructor's business location.

*Due to the Neighborhood Community Center closure, many existing Contract Instructors have been relocated into other City community centers. On-site, indoor availability is extremely limited at this time. Be sure to include all available days and times on your proposal to help us look at all placement possibilities. Learn more about the closure at
