Captain Glass joined the Costa Mesa Police Department in 1995, after serving five years in the United States Marine Corps and being honorably discharged. As an officer, he had the opportunity to work a variety of assignments, which included Patrol, Gang Unit, Problem Oriented Policing, Public Information Officer, Field Training Officer, Master Police Officer, Narcotic & Vice Unit, Detective Bureau, and SWAT. In 2005, Cpt. Glass promoted to sergeant with assignments in Patrol Services and as the Chief's Adjutant. Cpt. Glass promoted to lieutenant in 2010 and held assignments as the Field Operations Admin Lieutenant, Telecommunications Bureau Commander, Patrol Services Area 2 Commander, Professional Standards Bureau Lieutenant, and SWAT Commander.
In 2015, Glass promoted to captain and has since overseen SWAT and both the Support Services and Field Operations Divisions. Glass currently oversees the Field Operations Division, consisting of Patrol Services, Traffic Safety Bureau, and Field Operations Administration.
Glass has an Associate of Science Degree in Administration of Justice - Supervisory from Irvine Valley College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science from Chapman University, a Master of Science Degree in Emergency Services Administration from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Science Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach. He is also a graduate of the Peace Officer Standards and Training Command College, Class 53.
