The TeWinkle Park Lakes are undergoing repairs, improvements and rehabilitation. Please be advised that some areas of TeWinkle Park Lakes will be closed temporarily during construction.
Project Start Date: September 29, 2025
Project End Date: Summer, 2026
Project improvements include:
- Replacement of lake liner
- Improvements to lake depth and shape
- Replacement of circulation system to improve water quality
- Landscaping enhancements and rebuilding shorelines with natural edges
- Improvements to prevent water loss and enhance functionality
Improvement Areas
Wildlife Management Activities
Prior to the contractor commencing construction activities, the City’s environmental consultant will be carrying out required biological protection and wildlife management activities within the TeWinkle Park Lakes. These activities may include native species surveying and protection, turtle and fish collection, and invasive species removal, which are required to prepare the Lakes for the subsequent lake liner replacement construction work and long-term sustainability of the lake’s ecosystem.
Project Funding
- $2 million from former State Senator David Min
- $500,000 from Capital Improvement Fund
- Additional funds from completed projects in State Grant Fund and Capital Improvement Fund
