The beloved Snoopy House holiday display has been a Costa Mesa and Orange County holiday tradition since 1966, attracting an estimated 15,000 visitors annually.
The holiday display features scenes populated by "Peanuts" characters and is open nightly from 5:30 to 9 p.m. December 13 - 22 in front of Costa Mesa City Hall, 77 Fair Drive. Opening night will be Dec. 13 with a formal presentation beginning at 5 p.m.
The event features free train rides, free cider, free photos with Santa, live performances on the community stage and an opportunity to purchase holiday treats from local organizations.
Santa makes special visits to the event every night beginning at 6 p.m.
Snoopy House first made its appearance at City Hall in 2011 when the Jordan family, faced with some difficult financial times, considered putting an end to the display. With the fate of the Snoopy House in jeopardy, the City of Costa Mesa agreed to host the display and provide other assistance. This partnership with the Jordan family saved the holiday tradition, provided an even larger venue and allowed for additional features including nightly live music and free train rides for children.
